Bilingual PK-4 and K Camps
A SAISD summer camp for English Learners eligible for admission to upcoming Kindergarten and First Grade students for the 2019-2020 school year. In this camp students will be working with language rich interactive activities, engaging technology and fun field trips. Students will develop strong literacy skills through storytelling, songs, and hands-on activities.
This is a program required by the Texas Education Agency.
Date: June 3-26 / Monday-Friday / 8:00 AM-3:30 PM
Location: Graebner Elementary, Maverick Elementary School, Highland Park Elementary School, Margil Academy, Neal Elementary School, and Washington Elementary School
Grades: Current PK-4 and K
The course will have both paper and online registration.

The purpose of these summer bridge enrichment programs is for incoming 6th grade and 9th grade students to participate in language, culture and identity building activities with their peers from other feeding campuses. This project is a collaboration between SAISD Bilingual Department, the campus and UTSA.

The curriculum will focus on language development and essential knowledge and skills that address the effective, linguistic, and cognitive needs of students.

Location: Poe Middle School
Grades: Current 6-8

Let's Go! We're traveling in this camp through Latin American countries and speaking Spanish. In this camp, students will be immersed in learning about the beauty and culture of different Spanish-speaking countries. Students will be cooking, taking virtual tours, partaking in Art activities, and enjoying authentic literature in Spanish.
Due to popular demand, the process will be expanded to a lottery system.

Grades: Current PK-4 through 4th Grade

Mexican American Studies Leadership Institute (MAS)
MAS aspires to build an experience that will enrich the lives of students who participate and affirm the critical contributions of the Mexican American community in our history and aspire to serve as a beacon for other communities around the nation. This camp is open to any student in SAISD. A lottery system will be used as seats are limited.
Date: June 3-14 / Monday-Friday / 8:30 AM-2:15 PM
